Directions to Away Sites

Knightdale HS, 100 Bryan Chalk Lane, Knightdale, NC

Turn RIGHT out of Jordan High School, 6806 Garrett Road, Durham, NC for 0.1 miles. Turn RIGHT (South-West) onto SR-751 (Hope Valley Road) for 1.2 miles. Turn off onto Ramp for 0.2 miles toward I-40/Raleigh. Merge onto I-40 (East). Stay on I-40 (East) and take the Wade Avenue Exit...you are trying to get to the Inner Loop of I-440 in order to head North around Raleigh. After getting on I-440, you'll want to follow it all the way to the east side of Raleigh specifically looking for the US-64 exit. Take the US-64 (New Bern Avenue...not the Bypass...this would be the first US-64 exit) exit East. Stay on US-64 until you reach Old Knight Road on your Left (to your right at this intersection the road may be designated North 1st Avenue. Turn Left on Old Knight Road. You'll pass by Forestville Road on your Left and the next Left should be the entrance to Knightdale HS (Bryan Chalk Lane.)

A note about the US-64 Bypass versus US-64 (New Bern Avenue)...I've travelled on US-64 and it has certainly been an incredible mess, pretty much at any time of the day...that said, I haven't travelled on New Bern Avenue since the US-64 Bypass was installed. You can take the Bypass and then cut-back to Knightdale, but it will be a bit out of the way. For those that travel to Raleigh a bit more than I, you may know better.

Green Hope HS, 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road, Cary, NC

Turn RIGHT out of Jordan High School, 6806 Garrett Road, Durham, NC. Turn RIGHT (North-East) onto SR-751 (Hope Valley Road). Turn LEFT onto HWY 54 and continue towards the HWY 54/ HWY 55 intersection. Turn RIGHT onto HWY 55 and proceed for approximately 6 to 7 miles and you'll be looking for a convenience store on your RIGHT at an intersection. You'll want to make a LEFT onto Morrisville Carpenter Road. You'll cross train tracks and look to be in a small town, you'll want to make a RIGHT onto Carpenter Upchurch Road immediately after crossing the train tracks. Follow Carpenter Upchurch Road for about a mile and Green Hope HS will be on your LEFT. If you do not see Green Hope HS after about two miles on Carpenter Upchurch Road, you have either missed it or are not on the correct road.

Hillside HS, 3727 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC

Turn RIGHT out of Jordan High School, 6806 Garrett Road, Durham, NC. Turn LEFT (North-East) onto SR-751 (Hope Valley Road) [0.1 mi]. Turn RIGHT (East) onto (E) Woodcroft Pkwy [1.8 mi]. Southern Durham HS, 800 Clayton Road, Durham, NC

Turn LEFT out of Jordan High School, 6806 Garrett Road, Durham, NC. Turn RIGHT (North-East) onto US-15 (US-501) [0.5 mi]. At Durham Chapel Hill Blvd Exit 105A, continue (East) on Ramp [0.6 mi]. Continue (North) on US-15 Byp (US-501 Byp) [4.1 mi]. Continue (East) on I-85 (US-15 Byp) [4.3 mi]. At I-85 Exit 178, turn off onto Ramp [0.4 mi]. Continue (South-East) on N Hardee Street [0.3 mi]. Turn LEFT (East) onto Cheek Road [1.6 mi]. Turn RIGHT (South-East) onto Clayton Road [0.5 mi]. Arrive at Southern Durham High School on LEFT.
