February 26th, 2005. The following is information provided to help make the Falcon Banquet a night for all of our student-athletes to remember...

Cafeteria Portion of the Event (6PM to 7PM)

  • Please Park on the side of the school as space allows
  • Please use either the door on the side of the school or the glass door directly into the cafeteria
  • As there may be individuals that bring similar dishware for the pot-luck, please attach a defining tag (masking tape with name...to bottom) if so desired, to your dishware for pick-up after the event
  • If you plan to leave early from the event...please pick-up your dishware prior to moving from the cafeteria to the auditorium for the awards presentation (the doors to the cafeteria will be locked during the awards portion of the event)
  • Upon arriving on Saturday at or before 6PM there are a number of information items to help you enjoy the evening...
    1. You will be able to place your pot-luck item in a location upon entry to the cafeteria with minimal travel and effort on your part.
    2. We would ask that someone in your party pick up your sign-in/information sheet. For those that choose to fill out the sign-in/info sheet during the event (you may complete this any time during the event at your convenience) there will be a special Gift Certificate Raffle at the end of the Awards portion in the auditorium!!
    3. Take a bit of time upon entering the cafeteria to look and order a copy of any or all of the four tapes provided this year...Varsity Season, Varsity Highlight, JV Season and JV Highlight tape. (Note to seniors...you will receive your copy of the Varsity Highlight and Season tape during the Awards portion of the event)
    4. Look over the offerings from the Falcon Football Wear collection to make orders for the 2005 Season.

  • Approximately 6:15PM we will begin to open up the lines to eat.
  • The Awards portion of the event will take place in the Auditorium and is slated to begin approximately at 7PM. To aid in helping move the event along, as we approach 7PM, please begin to move to the auditorium.

Auditorium Portion of Event (7PM to 9PM)

  • Prior to 7PM we will move from the cafeteria to the auditorium. There will be a designated path marked off to proceed from the cafeteria to the auditorium and we ask that everyone follow this route both for safety and efficiency. Your assistance in this effort is greatly appreciated!
  • Remember that the cafeteria will be locked after everyone has exited and will not be reopened until after the event. Please take all personal belongings along and if you plan to leave early, please pick up your dishware from the pot-luck.
  • We ask that you proceed in a safe but efficient pace to the auditorium in order to allow the awards presentation to begin as soon as possible.
  • Tapes will be on sale after the event as well as through the website for a limited time after the event.

Thank you for both your time and energy to making this event great! (updated 02/24/2005)

The cost of the tapes will be $12 a piece, but will reduce in price depending on if you purchase more than one tape (either the same or different...see order form). We encourage you to purchase all four tapes as all of the proceeds will go to assisting in off-setting the cost of the complimentary tapes for the seniors, the material costs of creating the tapes and just as important the purchasing of tapes for the creation and send-out of recruiting videos for our student-athletes. Minutes from Friends of Falcon Football Meetings

Minutes from October 9th, 2006 Meeting

* We are presently raising money from former Jordan Athletes/Football players to help pay the cost of Letter Jackets for those student-athletes who may not be able to afford to pay for jackets. A dozen letters requesting financial support from former athletes was mailed recently and the response has been good. We need more names and addresses of former athletes such that we can send more letters out for support of this initiative. Please email John.marlowe@rbcdain.com with any you may have.

* Remember that we have Falcon ware (t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc.) for sale at every home varsity game. The table is set up near concessions. Please help the team and show your Falcon Pride by purchasing Falcon ware!

* We need more dry Gatorade containers ($10 each at Sams) for the JV and Varsity remaining games. Please email Debbie Blaylock at bblaylock@nc.rr.com to let her know that you are willing to pick up a container or two.

* We have Parent reps for FFF for every class with the exception of Freshmen. Please email John.marlowe@rbcdain.com if you would be interested in being the rep for this class. Child should be a freshman.

* We are looking into the possibility of providing an equipment shed for the football team. If you know of one that could be donated and moved to the field or , if we construct a new one, where we might be able to get some or all of the material donated (or price discounted), please email john.marlowe@rbcdain.com. Bob Rosell is checking with a contact on getting materials discounted. Cleve Robertson has agreed to coordinate any construction.

* Volunteers are needed to work concessions at the October 14 Vasity game. Please email john.marlowe@rbcdain.com to help. We REALLY need our parents to step up here and assist. Many of you have asked how you could help. Here is your chance. PLEASE RESPOND.

* Booster Club Raffle event is set for Monday night, November 07. Tickets ($50) can be purchased by calling Brent Blaylock @ 493-8309. Many folks are purchasing a ticket that has their child's number on it. Tickets are limited, so call today.

* Booster Board renovation is set to begin soon. Steve Laws of Harland Laws Company has agreed to do this for us. We will replace wood boarding where necessary, repaint and put the new Falcon logo on the signage. Advertisers and supporters will then be contacted for interest in having their name placed on the board. Not sure if this will be done before Homecoming.

* We need a 4-pack of "High 8's" video tapes for game filming. Cost is about $16. If you can pick this up for us, please email john.marlowe@rbcdain.com to confirm.

* Annual yard sale will again be in the Spring. The Rosells have agreed to chair this again. Updates to follow.

* Discussion was held regarding the annual middle school football game held each year between Githens and Lowes Grove.

* Hardware for the filming equipment will likely be purchased from funds raised last year at the annual yard sale. Next FFF meeting is scheduled for November 13 at 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
